Adam French
Co-Founder & Director
Previously: Goldman Sachs
Adam co-founded Scalable Capital after recognising that everyone deserves better when it comes to access to wealth management services. It was clear that technology could provide a professional service which is more convenient and more cost-effective than ever before. Prior to founding the business, he spent seven years at Goldman Sachs as Executive Director of Commodities and Derivatives Trading. Adam has just been named as one of the PAM Top 40 Under 40 for 2017. He studied Business Mathematics and Statistics at the London School of Economics.
Dr. Ella Rabener
CMO & UK Co-Founder
Previously: McKinsey, Westwing
Ella combines a finance background with several years of experience building e-commerce startups. As founder and CEO of she grew the site over 3 years into the dominating online player in the home & living category in Russia. She also spent 7 years at McKinsey & Company in New York, Dubai, Munich and Cologne working for private equity and consumer goods clients as well as advising banks on risk management topics. Ella has a diploma in Business Administration with a specialisation in Banking and Financial Derivatives from the University of Frankfurt as well as a Maîtrise degree from the University of Lyon. She also has a doctoral degree from the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel.
Simon Miller
UK CEO & UK Co-Founder
Previously: Barclays Capital
Simon joined Scalable Capital after 8 years working in finance with Barclays Capital. He began trading industrial metals on the London Metal Exchange and rose to the position of Vice President and Global Head of Base Metals Options. Whilst Simon’s primary role was trading and managing risk, he also worked with both institutional and corporate clients to discover hedging solutions and, in his latter years, he helped develop an e-trading platform. Simon studied Mathematics and Economics at the University of Warwick.
Erik Podzuweit
Previously: Goldman Sachs, Westwing
Erik has many years of experience in the financial and e-commerce sector. Until last, he was Co-CEO at Westwing Home & Living Germany. Prior to this, Erik spent 7 years working in London and Frankfurt as an Executive Director and Vice President for Goldman Sachs. Erik studied Business and Economics at the University of Kiel and Warwick Business School. In addition, he was a tutor for statistics and econometrics.
Florian Prucker
Previously: Goldman Sachs
Florian spent over 8 years in the financial services industry based in New York, Frankfurt and most recently London. As an Executive Director in Securities Trading at Goldman Sachs, he worked on a pan-European electronic trading platform for private investors. Prior to this, he serviced private banks and asset managers in Germany and Austria. Florian studied Business and Electronics at the Technical University of Munich.
Prof. Stefan Mittnik, PhD

Previously: Ludwig Maximilians University Munich, Union Investment
Stefan is a Co-Founder and Scientific Advisor at Scalable Capital. He is Professor of Financial Econometrics and Director of the Centre for Quantitative Risk Analysis at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. Stefan is also a Fellow at the Centre for Financial Studies (CFS) in Frankfurt. After obtaining his PhD at Washington University in St. Louis, he taught in New York and Kiel (Germany) before moving to Munich and has since held a number of visiting positions in the US.

He served on the Research Advisory Board of the Deutsche Bundesbank - the Review Board of the German Research Foundation - and was research director at the CFS and the Institute for Economic Research in Munich. He has spent about 30 years researching, analysing, modelling and forecasting financial risk.

Dr. Andreas Schranzhofer
Previously: Get Your Guide, Avaloq, ETH Zürich
Andreas has managed mobile platforms within banking and e-commerce for the last 5 years. As Head of Mobile Engineering for GetYourGuide in Zurich and Berlin, he built the engineering team and developed their mobile platform. He previously worked at Avaloq Evolution AG in Zurich, the leading core banking provider in Switzerland. He was in charge of the Avaloq Front Platform and he oversaw customer projects in the areas of mobile and web banking where his primary responsibilities were in quality and security assurance. Andreas studied Telematics at the Graz University of Technology and he holds a doctorate at ETH Zurich in the field of Embedded Real Time Systems.
Dr. Alexis Darányi
Previously: Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer
Alexis holds a doctoral degree in law and worked for four years in the Hamburg office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Prior to this, he completed a traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Hamburg with in house experience at White & Case and the legal department of Thomson Reuters . Alexis studied at the Bucerius Law School and the NYU School of Law.

Before joining Scalable Capital Elisabeth has been in charge of the finance department of Finanzchef24. Before her experience at the Munich Startup she took care of Venture Capital Funds at a tax adviser for 4 years. Elisabeth studied Business Administration at the University of Regensburg with the focus on financial management and reporting.

Tobias is a financial and business journalist with more than 20 years of experience. Before he joined Scalable Capital he was a leading editor of the German business magazine €uro. Previously he worked for Capital, another popular business magazine in Germany, as well as the newspapers Financial Times Deutschland and Süddeutsche Zeitung. In his editorial comments and articles he mainly covered issues about financial markets, rules-based investing and risk management. Tobias studied physics at the Technical University of Munich.
Dr. Nikolay Robinzonov
Previously: DEVnet, Ludwig Maximilians University Munich
Nikolay brings experience as a Quant-Consultant in software development to asset management, clearing companies and banks. He wrote his quantitative dissertation on statistics at LMU Munich on the topic of forecasting market risk. Nikolay studied applied mathematics at the University of Sofia and statistics at the LMU in Munich. He also completed an internship at the Ifo Institute for Economic Research in Munich.
Christian Groll
Previously: Ludwig Maximilians University Munich
Christian holds a doctoral degree in Statistics and has expertise in quantitative portfolio management and modeling of financial market risks. Before his time at Scalable Capital he spent 6 years in academia at Ludwig-Maximilians University (LMU) in Munich. During that time he achieved his doctoral degree with his thesis about "Dynamic Risk Management of Multi-asset Portfolios". Christian studied Financial Mathematics at the LMU in Munich.
