Scalable Capital Makes Mobile Investing Easier with Android App

  • Android users can now download the mobile investing app
  • The app allows Scalable Capital’s clients to check their real-time portfolio valuation and returns on the go

London, 7 December 2016 - Scalable Capital, the European digital investment manager, announces today the launch of its new investment app for Android, following the successful launch of its iOS app in July. The new app, launched shortly after Scalable Capital’s new Stocks & Shares ISA, gives Android users full access to their portfolios on the go.

With a few taps, the app turns any Android phone into a mobile investment manager with unique risk management technology. Clients can securely log into their account to:

  • Review their account activity and all portfolio adjustments Scalable Capital has made for them
  • Check their portfolio’s performance, including intra-day updates
  • Get full transparency on the current portfolio allocation
  • Review their personal data, including their individual risk category

“Using technology to deliver a great user experience for our clients is one of our key principles, so it was clear from day one that we would focus on mobile implementation,” says Adam French, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Scalable Capital. “We’ve received great feedback on our iOS app from clients, so we’re excited to bring the same seamless mobile experience to Android users as well”, adds Dr. Ella Rabener, UK Co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Scalable Capital.

A simple and secure app

Having logged in to the app with their secure password, clients can review the performance in their portfolio and their current asset allocation. They can also check the latest adjustments made to their portfolios and access all their information, including how much they have invested, their risk category and the projected performance of their portfolio. The easy-to-use interface allows clients to access everything within seconds.

As a regulated financial services provider, Scalable Capital ensures bank-level security for the personal data of its clients.
The app is now available for download in the Google Play Store. The iOS app can be found in the iOS Store.

Notes to editors

Scalable Capital has fundamentally changed investing by using technology at the heart of its service. Unlike other offerings, Scalable Capital uses a technology-driven, data-led investment approach to deliver three key customer outcomes.

Better understanding of risk. Its technology allows them to drop vague risk labels like “high-risk” or “conservative”. Instead it provides clients with a percentage number which quantifies the potential downside in a very bad year. No more guessing.

Better risk-adjusted returns. By focussing specifically on the risks in a client’s portfolio it aims to capitalise on markets where risk is rewarded, and limit exposure to excess risk in more volatile conditions where it doesn’t get rewarded with better returns.

Less emotional stress. By keeping risk stable in all market conditions, Scalable Capital helps clients stay invested in the capital markets for longer so they can grow their wealth in the long term.

Built by a team of over 40 experts spanning the financial, technology and academic worlds, Scalable Capital has created a service, which not only makes investment management cheaper, more accessible and more convenient, but better as well. All by using technology at every step of the process.

The UK team consists of Adam French (formerly Executive Director of Goldman Sachs’s Trading Division); Simon Miller (formerly Vice President at Barclays Capital) and Dr. Ella Rabener (formerly Founder and CEO of Westwing Russia and Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company).

Its unique risk management technology was developed in close collaboration with Professor Dr. Stefan Mittnik, Director of the Chair of Financial Econometrics and Director of the Center for Quantitative Risk Analysis at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich.
